TAKE ACTION: Help Secure Clean Energy Jobs for Michigan!
According to The Daily Green, Michigan is one of the top five cities for green jobs. To make sure that we maintain this ranking, and to expand the market for clean energy technology and jobs, the U.S. Senate has to enact comprehensive climate and energy legislation now! Our Senators want lead on the issue of clean energy, and they need to know that Michiganders support this. We need to get as many calls as possible in to Senate offices demanding that climate change legislation remain an integral portion of any energy bill the Senate takes up. If the Senate does not act on this in the current session, it is unlikely that this will come up for consideration for at least another year.
To achieve this goal Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund is partnering with the statewide Clean Energy Works coalition to conduct phone-banking and patch-through calls over the next three days.
We need your help! Please tell Senators Levin and Stabenow that you want to see Michigan continue to lead in green jobs by calling the numbers below.
Senator Levin's office - (202) 224-6221
Senator Stabenow's office - (202) 224-4822
Or, you can visit one of the five phone banks have been set-up throughout the state (Lansing, Ann Arbor, Traverse City, Dearborn, Madison Heights).
Click here for sample scripts to use in your conversation with the Senate staff who answer your call. Once you complete your call, don't forget to spread the word via Twitter, Facebook, and e-mail.
Thank you for taking this important action; we hope that you will also ask friends, family and colleagues to do the same. For more information, email Mark Neisler at mark@michiganlcv.org, or visit www.72hoursamericanpower.com.
