A great opportunity to learn about Environmental Justice in Michigan
Next Tuesday, March 30, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and Environment is hosting a symposium on the state of Michigan's Environmental Justice Plan. This is a unique opportunity to find out how our state is proposing to pursue environmental justice in poor and minority communities. Governmental representatives and key stakeholders in the process will be on hand share their views on a recently released draft policy at a gathering titled "Environmental Justice in Michigan: The Challenges and Opportunities of Implementing the Governor’s Directive." For more information, please click here.
Also, please note that Michigan LCV Executive Director Lisa Wozniak interviewed one of the key members of the Governor's Environmental Justice Working Group--Pamela Smith--on the First Friday Focus on the Environment on WEMU on March 5. See the "Director's Cut" on our website for more detail and a link to the interview.
