Moms Clean Air Force Organizer Hits the Ground Running in West Michigan
Mom's Clean Air Force is off to a great start in West Michigan. I am excited to see moms, dads and other caregivers become more involved in protecting The Clean Air Act and the health of our children. As a parent, I know my number one fear is that something bad could happen to my child.
You can find me at several events this winter and spring, including the Women's Expo and the Forest Hills Community Expo in March, The GR8 Parenting Event at Devos Place in April, and Holland's Tulip Time Festival in May.
These are all perfect opportunities to meet moms and provide fun activities for children to learn about clean air. As I begin networking and building a strong collaboration of moms, I'll start to run more events and letter writing parties, so we can share our hopes of a clean planet for our children. We'll take trips to Lansing to tell our elected leaders that we want to keep the Clean Air Act intact, and that we support the EPA's new Mercury and Air Toxic Standards.
We'll attend city council meetings to show support for the renewable energy standards, and we'll create teams to attend local Earth Day events and wear our Mom's Clean Air Force t-shirts with pride.
A soft "kick-off" for Moms Clean Air in West Michigan be held at the end of February to introduce our program to Grand Rapids. Community leaders and citizens are invited to come enjoy cheese & wine while listening to a few speakers share our mission with local moms. In the next few months I'll have have similar kick-offs in Muskegon, Holland and Kalamazoo.
Can't wait to see you at these events!
